About Superblue Miami
Art becomes an immersive and unforgettable experience at Superblue Miami. Evocative, impactful, and surprising, this exhibition space hosts multiple installations by innovative and cutting-edge artists. The uniqueness of this place lies undoubtedly in the possibility of “living” the artworks firsthand, of stepping inside them and being completely absorbed by them.
Superblue Miami is the first center of experiential art of its kind to be open to the public, but the organizers’ project is to open various venues in other cities around the world to spread, through art, a new vision of the world and social change.
A labyrinth of mirrors, created by Es Devlin, a multisensory and interactive digital environment designed by teamLab with vibrant-colored flowers and waterfalls, the power of video art, and the Ganzfeld effect in James Turrell’s work are just some of the installations to discover and admire within Superblue Miami.
How to Get There
Superblue Miami is located at 1101 North West 23rd Street in the Allapattah neighborhood of Miami, across from the Rubell Museum, and only a 5-minute drive from Wynwood Walls. Alternatively, you can use public transportation by taking the Brightline+ from Brightline Miami Central Station. Superblue Miami Immersive Art Experience
Innovation and fun await you at Superblue Miami. The large-scale immersive installations present will be able to astonish and inspire you. The strength of this exhibition lies in the connection between the artworks and the audience: often, it is the visitor who initiates them or gives them the preferred shape. Art is no longer just a display to observe, but becomes accessible to everyone, and in fact, the visitor has the role and task of truly “stepping inside” to understand it.
Among the most interesting installations are:
- Meadow: Colorful flowers hanging from the ceiling that open and close, illuminating the environment in semi-darkness.
- Proliferating Immense Life – A Whole Year per Year: Large screens display the continuous passage of seasons, and visitors can modify individual details of the landscape simply by touching the walls, showcasing how humans have a significant impact on nature.
- Massless Clouds between Sculpture and Life: By wearing a poncho, you enter the “cloud room” and walk on a metal floor, traversing actual clouds of white foam. The tranquil foam party comes with an additional cost but is worth the extra price.
- Universe of Water Particles, Transcending Boundaries: This vertical storm characterizes a moving painting, and by touching it, you can create or revive flowers, emphasizing that humans have the power to contribute to the well-being of the environment.
- Roden Crater – James Turrell installation: James Turrell’s white room is a bare and sloping area where ever-changing colors distort perception and the sense of space in an artwork that is not always immediately comprehensible.
- Forest of Us: A short film compares human life with the life of a forest, and at the end of the film, you enter a two-story maze of mirrors with large stairs and narrow corridors.
