San Diego is among the most beautiful and attractive cities in California and is right on the border with Mexico. Charming and famous for its nightlife and beaches, it is also worth a visit for its Old Town, the magnificent Balboa Park, and theme parks such Legoland and SeaWorld.

But if you arrive in the city without a plan, you may feel overwhelmed because you are like those who want to see everything and do not know where to start. What should you do? Is there a San Diego Pass that can help you fully experience San Diego without perhaps spending a fortune on entrance fees, transportation, and other expenses? This article will propose three passes and you just have to choose the one that is best for you!

GoCity San Diego All-Inclusive Pass

GoCity San Diego All Inclusive PassJust like in all major American cities, here too we find the Go San Diego Card, a flexible and smart solution that is helpful for those who never know which attractions to visit. The San Diego All-Inclusive Pass is a pass with variable duration, which will allow you access to more almost 50 attractions of the city that you can check in detail on the official website.

You can choose from museums, amusement parks, aquariums, zoos, mini-cruises, organized tours, and much more. You will also choose the duration of the pass, depending on how long you will stay in the city. You can buy a pass valid for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7 days. Additionally, you can visit all the attractions included in the offer, without daily limitations.

If you don’t understand how this pass works, let’s take a look at this example. If you decide to buy the 3-day pass, and you visit the first attraction on Monday, you can use your pass without limits for two more consecutive days, i.e. until Wednesday. The pass is activated when you visit the first attraction. Please note that the only real limitation of this offer is that the pass is valid from 9:00 am to 5.30 pm, so it is good to get up early and organize your day to make the most of the offer.

Included Attractions

Here are the main attractions included in the San Diego GoCity All-Inclusive Pass. I highlight the presence of two of the most famous and visited attractions in the area namely SeaWorld San Diego and Legoland California:

  • SeaWorld San Diego
  • LEGOLAND California
  • San Diego Zoo
  • San Diego Zoo Safari Park
  • USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum
  • Birch Aquarium at Scripps
  • Sesame Place San Diego
  • Belmont Park Ride & Play Pass
  • San Diego Natural History Museum

Prices

The first column is dedicated to adults and the second to children (3-12 years). Please note that prices are subject to change and always check the official website.

  • 2 days $179 –  $169
  • 3 days $229 – $219

  • 5 days $319 – $309

Most people tend to opt for the 5-day All-Inclusive Go San Diego Card.

GoCity San Diego Explorer Pass

GoCity San Diego Explorer PassAnother pass in the GoCity family that, unlike the previous one, is set by the number of attractions you want to visit and not by the number of days you are in town.

You can in fact choose a pass that includes among 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7 of the best activities in San Diego. Unfortunately, however, the list of attractions does not include Sea World or Legoland California, which remain exclusive to the All-Inclusive version of the pass we described above.

The complete and updated list of attractions can be found on the official website.

Prices

Again, please note that prices are subject to change and to always check the official website.

This pass allows you to save less money than the previous one, but perhaps it can offer more flexibility instead. We talk about 20% in savings if you choose to enter at least two attractions from a list of 43 (which you can see here). Depending on which and how many attractions you choose, the price, and therefore the savings, will vary significantly.

Choosing this option requires a thorough study of San Diego’s attractions and more planning of your itinerary. On the other hand, it will allow you to save money right where you need it most and avoid unnecessary waste. That’s why I recommend you read our article on the attractions in San Diego before making your choice.

San Diego City Pass

If, as is likely, your trip to California is not limited to San Diego, this pass may be just right for you. Are you planning to visit more than one theme park, such as SeaWorld or San Diego Zoo, Universal Studios in Los Angeles, or one of the San Francisco Bay attractions? Consider this cumulative pass, which could save you up to 34% on tickets if your tour of California includes multiple parks.

There are two types of passes: 4 or 5 parks, from the following list.

San Diego County:

Orange County:

  • Knott’s Berry Farm
  • Knott’s Soak City

Los Angeles County:

San Francisco Bay:

  • California’s Great America
  • California Academy of Sciences
  • Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

The price is $309 for the 4-day pass and $363 for the 5-day pass. In both cases, the pass lasts 30 days from the first entry.
