Bernardo Pacini

I’m Bernardo, I live in Florence, near where I was born in 1987. Although I had known the founder Lorenzo since our days at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, my first contact with Viaggi-USA came a bit later when, at Lorenzo’s request, I published a three-part travel diary recounting my first road trip in the USA with Clarissa, my wife and travel companion, during our honeymoon. Since then, my passion for travel, especially in the USA, has blossomed more and more every day. I’ve taken many more trips, and I will continue to do so!

Over the years, what was once a passion has turned into a job: Lorenzo, Filippo, and I founded Evenit, a company with the goal of curating tourism-related editorial projects. With the help of many editors, we have continued to share our travel experiences in American land, and we also decided to translate Viaggi-USA into English, giving life to Travel in USA. Even when traveling to different destinations, the organizational aspect remains one of my favorites: planning every single detail of the journey, discovering unknown places, reaching non-touristy destinations… the only thing I love more than organizing a trip is the journey itself!

In addition to writing about travel, I am also an author of poetry books. To date, I have published five of them (Miracolo di cemento, Cos’è il rosso, Perfavore rimanete nell’ombra, La drammatica evoluzione and Fly mode). Between awards, reviews, critiques, readings, and literary festivals, there would be a lot to tell, but specifically, it suffices to say that a section of Perfavore rimanete nell’ombra is a poetic account of a journey in the USA; it’s called Decamerone americano and narrates my first 10 days spent in the USA with my wife. Fly Mode, on the other hand, is my latest book and is written from the perspective of a drone (yes, you read that right!). Among the many references, there are quite a few to the places I encountered during my travels in the USA and beyond. Finally, with some poet friends, I co-founded the website Lay0ut Magazine, where, as the editor-in-chief, among other things, I curate a section for the Italian translation of American poets. If you’re curious about my literary work, take a look at my Linktree!

Last but not least: I love good cuisine (not only Tuscan, but needless to say, I have a head start), progressive rock/metal in all its forms, and above all, I have an absolute passion for Fiorentina (no, not the steak, in this case!).

If you’d like to follow me, you can find my Facebook profile here and my Instagram profile here.
