A Guide to the Las Vegas Monorail: The Best Way to Get around the City

As we mentioned in our article on how to get around Las Vegas, the stifling heat that besieged the city discourages visitors from taking a stroll through Las Vegas eccentric themed hotels. And that’s why it is necessary to take advantage of the transportation system to move effortlessly between one hotel and another without suffering from extreme heat in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Monorail is much faster, more complete, and effective than free buses and small trams; it is a real lifesaver for those who visit Sin City and want to avoid the heat or getting stuck in traffic on the Strip in their car (or rental car). I drove on the Strip at night and I don’t recommend it.

Indeed, the Las Vegas Monorail is by far the most common way to travel on the more than 4 miles of the Las Vegas Strip. Its 7 stations – well connected to the airport by WAX buses – allow you to get to the city’s most famous hotels and attractions quickly. What’s more, the journey on the ultra-modern Monorail trains offers a pleasant view, since the railroad track on which it moves is elevated. From south to north (and vice versa), the Monorail connects the MGM Grand to the SLS Las Vegas (Sahara) and runs along the east side of the road. The various stations are all sheltered and, thanks to the signs and markings, are easily accessible from the hotel common areas and shopping malls in the immediate vicinity.
